Hi, anyone know what a sand dollar might represent? I had a dream about one, and I know that it is significant, but just can't place my thumb on it?
I was at the end of a coastline with dark colored cliffs and rocks. I've never been there. And I reached down into the water and picked up a huge plump sand dollar and held it up in the air.
I tried to ask in the dreams tribe, but no avail. Thanks!

Many "dream dictionary" books, for example, state that dreaming about "snakes" relates to "sex." However, that might not be the case, depending on your past experience with snakes. For you, a snake *might* represent some problem with which you are having difficulty, something that makes you feel "trapped" like prey. Ancient cultures often represented Divine Feminine (i.e., Goddess) energies with snake images. Many farmers see non-poisonous snakes in their fields as a sign of good crops because they snakes help keep the soil areated.
I would recommend looking at an image of a sand dollar, meditate on it, and *you* make the decision about what it might represent to you! How did you feel when you picked up the sand dollar in your dream? Did it fill you with peace? Awe? Longing? Sadness?
I typed "sand dollar" into Yahoo's search engine and found several beautiful images, such as the one on the following page:

Beneath that image happens to be one possible explanation of what the sand dollar *could* represent for someone who believes in Christianity.

I know what you mean, we should always interpret our dreams and symbos through our own filters. I do also enjoy reading about other's experiences about the same subject matter I am searching out...it kinda helps by bouncing ideas off each other. I have previously heard about the Christ-related Sand dollar theme, and that was mostly what I found when I searche the web.
I believe the sand dollar could mean several things to me, but have not narrowed it down to only one. I went to the person's house who was with me in the dream and asked their daughter if she had a sand dollar...she was also in the dream and I gave it to her. She had actually found a perfect one at the beach several months ago. I looked over the sand dollar, and was amazed at the perfect stars that formed around the center of it. It was beautiful and amazing. I am still meditating on it and trying to read about them more. Sorry for the delay in my response-been a little busy. Thanks again!
